Setting The Caps Lock, Num Lock And Scroll Lock Status

Setting up the Caps Lock, Num Lock and the Scroll Lock is much required sometimes. If the settings go bad, they can be create mess sometimes. Thankfully, these can be changed easily by changing some Registry values, and thus using it up to your needs.
To Set up the Startup of these keys, just follow the instructions below to get the desired results.

Before Performing this task, take a backup of your registry, so as in case if anything goes wrong, you would be able to recover it back.

  1. Go to Start –> Run and type “Regedit”.
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard.
  3. Select the String InitialKeyboardIndicators.
  4. Now we need to change the String Value to get the desired result. Give the values as given below.
    • For All Keys off - 0
    • For Caps Lock on - 1
    • For Num Lock on - 2
    • For Caps Lock and Num Lock on - 3
    • For Scroll Lock on - 4
    • For Caps Lock and Scroll Lock on - 5
    • For Num Lock and Scroll Lock on - 6
    • For All Keys on - 7
  5. Reboot your Computer and its Done
Its that easy, You can do it with ease. But just make sure you go the specified String and put the specified Value only. Please do not attempt to do if you are comfortable with the Registry. Use any Registry Editing Software for make any changes.
